The company needs a data scientist and a P&C insurance claimer. As a claims analytics data scientist, you will contribute to the company through clever use of data and complex analysis. You will be engaging in data understanding, work driver analysis, KPI creation, data extraction, and business case creation.

What will your impact be?

  • You will be understanding operational claims objectives, as these objectives will increase and maximize the efficiency of the unit.
  • Develop analytical base solutions to solve problems related to business, like data science problems, programming, extraction, and forecasting methods.
  • You will do data exploration, cleaning and reconciliation, and data extraction that are vital for the development of analytical solutions.
  • To influence claims management, you have to communicate findings and make recommendations in decision-making.
  • You will also be contributing to other projects, like testing and developing KPIs and determining work drivers.

  • You should have an innovative mindset to try new ideas and bring about change by focusing on clients’ needs.
  • Having critical thinking skills to evaluate assumptions, understand arguments, fetch solutions to clients’ problems and questions, and draw conclusions

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have 3 years of experience in actuarial or data science and in statistics.
  • A post-secondary degree in statistics, data science, and mathematics.
  • Proficient in statistical programming languages
  • Experience working with large data volumes
  • Good understanding of P&C insurance claims
  • Experience working with Python and SQL
  • Ability to validate hypotheses and models
  • Needs proficiency in the English language as well as a little knowledge of French.
